Marketing your business, a gardener's perspective
Spring is returning

In the last few weeks the signs of late winter and early spring have been showing up in my garden. Tulips, daffodils, freesia have all been making an appearance. Their presence is always welcome but requires some work and planning.

Thinking Ahead
Every gardener knows that you need to think ahead three to six months to see certain results. Other than weeding or setting in new starts you're often not going to see instant results in a garden. Even plants from the nursery require some planning and research to know how they will work in a given area.

Results of planning
I started planting the tulip and daffodil bulbs along with other corms and tubers for spring flowers last November. The climate in the Bay Area allows me to plant later in the fall than gardeners in the east and mid-west. They have to get started before the ground gets too hard to dig in.

What is your business climate like? How soon or late can you get started with a marketing campaign?

Last quarter's marketing efforts...
Very seldom will you see instant results from your marketing efforts. What you do today will effect sales weeks to months from now. If a prospect does call "out of the blue" because of an email they received from you, it's likely they've received a few before they finally called.

Knowing when to do what
It's important to plan like a gardener, weeks and months ahead, when marketing your business. Not only is planning important but tending, weeding and watering your prospective (plants) requires knowledge, time and care.

If you're planning now, but don't know what to "plant" or how to "water and weed" then call us at Pylon Studios. We can help you grow your prospects.
